Let’s start 2015 the right way: Upside down!
Dedicated to the king of asanas, this workshop will take you through many variations of this royal pose, ranging from simple to challenging.
Experiment with different hand and forearms placements to challenge your sense of balance and then start twisting and playing with your legs, creating complex shapes and honing your concentration.
Most importantly, recognize that the main aim of headstand is to give you a new perspective of your life and give you the insights needed for growth.
The workshop will end with a Yoga Nidra to give you a space to digest and integrate the teachings.
N.B. This is not a beginners’ workshop. To join, you must already be proficient in headstand i.e. capable of going up into the posture without “jumping” and able to hold it comfortably for at least one minute (without wall support).
Lougal Jazzar started practicing Yoga with a student of the great yoga and Tantra teacher André Van Lysebeth. His dedication to this practice led him to leave his job as a financial consultant and become a full time Yoga Teacher. He has attended workshops all over the world and completed five yoga teacher trainings, including Sarah Powers Yin/Yang Yoga Teacher training. He is greatly influenced by Tantric philosophy and is a senior student of Swami Anandakapila Saraswati, who initiated him in Tantra and Kundalini Kriya Yoga.
Lougal focuses on awareness and internal work during the performance of asanas and clearly outlines the difference between Hatha Yoga and other forms of exercise. Meditation and pranayama are emphasized within his classes.
