REGULAR YOGA (PM)

** POP AND ROCK VINYASA (Mondays 7:00 pm and Thursdays 6:30 pm) A medley of various yoga methods (Ashtanga, Jivamukti and Ishta) providing a free flowing experience to the uplifting sounds of pop and rock. In this class you will move to the tunes of Radiohead, Iggy pop, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Angus and Julia Stone as well as your own inner tune.  Leading to spiritual awareness, this vigorous physical and intellectual practice will leave you feeling like a yoga rock star and begging for some more.

Caters to students with a regular practice. Beginners are welcome provided they work at their own pace.  Duration: 90 min

** HONEY FLOW VINYASA  (Wednesdays 6:30 pm) A class catering to all those wishing to slow down a bit, to take their time in savoring the postures, to learn or re-learn the basics, to master alignment and delve deeper within…This down tempo yet rigorous class is a perfect blend of strengthening and softening asanas. It has been designed for everyone to benefit from, including pregnant women, students with chronic injuries or physical restrictions of any kind.

Caters specifically to beginners, open to all levelsDuration: 90 min

** ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA (Tuesdays 6:00 pm)

A dynamic flowing experience that takes you through a modified Ashtanga series. Prepare to move and sweat during this vigorous physical practice where you’ll feel like you’ve truly earned the savasana at the end. Vinyasa Flow will leave you feeling uplifted, energized and floating for the rest of the evening. This class is open to all levels. Modifications and options are provided throughout the class for individual needs.

** FLOW AND GROW (Wednesdays 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm)

Designed for new practitioners or established students who want to revisit the basics, this introductory class incorporates the fundamentals of Yoga postures and mindful breath. The gentle flow allows for a merged experience of powerful movement and soft stillness while crafting a solid foundation for understanding and exploring the practice of Yoga.

Caters specifically to beginners, open to all levelsDuration: 90 min

** LED MEDITATION (Thursdays 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm)

Build your own daily meditation practice, untangle yourself from the web of whirling mind stuff, and learn to drop into that place that knows. (not because it has more information, but simply because it knows), and we are thrilled about the increasing attendance over the past few months.

** WEEK END WIND DOWN (Sundays 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm)

A slow flow, meditative class that will punctuate your week end beautifully, nurse your hangovers and jump start your week with serenity and lusciousness.

Caters to all levels. Specifically suitable for beginners…and hard core party-goers.

SPECIAL CLASSES

** AERIAL KICK Revolutionize your regular yoga practice by decompressing your joints, taking your spine to new lengths and discovering a new relationship to air and earth. Invert safely, experience weightlessness, increase spine extension, find the child inside and swing your brains out with fun and laughter, all made possible by a sexy silk hammock hanging from the ceiling. A vigorous and fun charged vitamin supplement to your regular yoga practice.

Caters to people with a desire to let go and face their fears while having loads of fun. Some Yoga experience preferred

** AERIAL KISS A softer, subtler and more restorative aerial practice using the hammock as a prop. This class is mainly focused on gentle and supported back bending, awakening the hip girdle through gyro kinetic movements and indulging in a never experienced before floating meditation. You will leave feeling high as a kite.

Caters perfectly well to people with spinal injuries or any type of physical restrictions. Will also attract lazy bums and investigative minds or tired yogis in need of a wicked chill. All levels welcome.

** SURYA  AND CHANDRA (SUN and MOON) A 2 plus hour gathering designed to kick your ass and then kiss it. A perfect balance made possible by the sun and moon energies. In the first part of this class we start with a serving of sun salutations and a heat building sequence lathered with a few twists to flush some of our physical and mental stuff out. The second part is dedicated to opening up and resting within the knowledge of our higher power, through the unmatched sweetness of restorative postures.

Caters to all levels and people with a serious desire to balance their energies out Duration: 150 min

** RESTORATIVE POETISCAPES ** Fact: Beirut city can be a fierce place to survive even for a yogi. The proven way out of the madness is to go in, create space, unwind, dream and let go so you can move forward to receive new inspiration. Known as the dessert of the yoga practice, a restorative class is a static flow groove designed to release all the beasts lodged in our joints. **This class is often accompanied by poetry reading and live music.

Caters to people in need of a holistic massage and a desire to pause and reflect Duration: 150 min

** SELF PRACTICE In an effort to develop, explore and consolidate the concept of self practice, this special class invites you to share your practice alongside others including one of our teachers at Union Square. We open class by chanting together a few inspiring words and we top it off with an inspiring group meditation to get you going. After the intro to the class, you will be left to your own yogic devices for however long you deem your practice should be, move anyway that feels right, hold the postures for as many breaths as you like, practice 20 sun salutations or a really long savasana….whatever rocks your boat. No need for extensive yoga knowledge, you are simply encouraged to do it by simply listening within.

The teacher will allocate a few minutes at the end of class for any questions you may have. This is a rare opportunity to get extra insight into the yoga practice. Not to be missed.

** FIT TO FIGHT (Self Defense) At Union Square we believe that peace is the only way but if kind words, oms and smiles are not enough to wave off an aggressor what do we do? Apparently and sadly, more and more women and homosexual men are being attacked in Beirut. If you are a woman who lives alone and/or tends to walk around the city a lot, If you are a man who would like to learn ways to protect their woman in case of an attack or anyone with a super hero syndrome burning to kick some ass, come and learn a few techniques from a talented Martial Artist, that will intimidate your fiercest aggressors while keeping you safe.

    • Hi Sahar, This class is a special class and is announced usually two weeks in advance. Price is $25 and it’s 2 hours long. Keep checking back or you can sign up to our newsletter by dropping your email in the receive box right here on our website, we might have one coming up in November.

    • Hi Camille, We might have a class coming up sometime end of November, we usually run it on a Saturday morning. Fees are $25 for two hours and the teacher is Yann Charaoui. You can read his bio in the Meet us section. We will put a note to email you when we announce the class.

    • We don’t have showers or towels. We do carry mats but you will eventually want to bring your own at some point and we sell them if it’s of any interest.

    I am intrested in your yoga classes and I want to register in 3 which i want to attend weekly.
    The classes are the following:
    1- Tuesday aerial kick 6:00-7:30 PM
    2- Thursday pop & rock vinyasa 6:30-8:00 PM
    3- Friday my fairday yogathy 6:30-8:00 PM

    If I am a beginner and would like to try Aerial yoga, i can’t attend Wednesday’s class.
    Will i find a difficulty doing Tuesday’s class?
